JUMP Math tutor
The Legacy Center for Community Success believes everyone deserves a chance to succeed. Our programs help learners develop specific skills and build individual confidence. We foster a love of learning and community relationships based on grit, enthusiasm, and perseverance.
JUMP Math program volunteer tutors work with school-age learners, grades 2 through 8, who are struggling with math. JUMP Math’s distinctively structured approach focuses not only on what students learn, but how they learn it. The program’s approach helps children overcome “math anxiety” by building their confidence and resilience through tackling incrementally more challenging concepts at each stage of learning.
Volunteer tutors meet with one learner two hours a week. Training is provided as well as all tutoring materials. Volunteers must complete a background check. A one-year commitment is preferred.
